P - P.U.R.P.O.S.E.

P = Passion is Purpose Prioritized.

What's your passion?   How important is being passionate towards something and why?

Passion is Purpose Prioritized

Why is it that many of us don’t even know what we’re passionate about?  If you’ve ever accomplished something you’ve desired you understand that you had to have passion to push you there.

You can have passion without being rich.  Without being poor.  You can have a passion for anything.  Maybe its music, a talent like singing or dancing.  Finding your passion is important to your growth.

Too many of us are attempting to do things that we’re not passionate about.  An example of this is those who received a college degree and are working in different fields.  How many people do you know that are doing jobs outside of the degree they paid for?  Too many.  How many are doing a job that they hate or dislike just because they have to work?  Are you following your passion?  What is it?

Here are a few questions to ask yourself to help Build the Business of “U”.

  1. Take a moment and pinpoint what you really enjoy doing.  Something that you could give more than expected and it wouldn’t bother you.  Something that if you didn’t need money you would still love to do it or have it.   Examples of your passion may include working out, playing an instrument, helping others,  providing service to others.  Your passion may even include a passion to be rich, have a million dollars by a particular date.  Whatever it is, try to make it as specific as possible.
  2. What are you willing to do in order to make your passion a priority in your life?
  3. Can you make a living with your passion?
  4. Can your passion be obtained?
  5. Can you begin your passion today?
  6. What will you need to do today to begin?

U - P.U.R.P.O.S.E.

U = Undeniable Intentions

Undeniable Intentions

What types of things do people usually have good intentions about, but rarely ever take action on?

What’s something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done yet?

In your opinion, what keeps people from transforming their good intentions into action? Why do you think it’s so easy to get stuck?

What are some of the biggest barriers you’ve observed that keep people from taking action in their life? Do you think there’s a particular mindset that gets people stuck more easily than others?

What was your environment like growing up, in terms of intentionality? Was your family strategic and active or more spontaneous and laid back?

In what area of your life would you say you are the most intentional? Why are you inspired to be intentional there?

What are some of your personal barriers to change? If you could get rid of any one obstacle, what would it be and why?

“Scoring is the ultimate purpose of the game, and there’s no scoring without the hoop.” Where in your life do you feel that there is no hoop? Why do you feel that way?

Shifting your thoughts from desire to deeds can help you embrace an intentional lifestyle. Identify some areas where you need to make such a shift — what area cries out most for change and why?

Intentional living requires commitment. Are you willing to commit yourself to making the shift from good intentions to intentional living? If not, why do you think you’re hesitant?

S - PURPOSE

S = Successful habits of Stretching

Growing Pains

  • In what areas of your life have you lost your stretch and settled in?

  • Have you been able to define your own potential? If not, seeking aid in this are from a coach or mentor may be in order.

  • What habits have you developed that have hindered your progress toward your potential?

  • Rate your satisfaction in areas of your life. In what areas have you become “average” and may have lost some stretching?

  • Create some specific means for stretching in the areas of your life for which you are no longer winning.

  • Remember to establish a balance between your potential and your present place so that stretching is both possible and challenging. This tension is critical, but you do not want to get so overwhelmed that you simply give up.

• Your stretching goals should be SMART: Specific – words like “more, bigger, faster” are not specific Measurable – without measuring, how do you know if you succeeded? Attainable – they should be something you WILL actually do Realistic – they must be something you CAN actually do Timed – without a timed arrival, you are only creating a wish list
