Reality is that we are all irrational at times. Therefore understanding what irrational thoughts are can help us be aware so when they do occur we can better deal with them or eliminate them with time.

In this lecture we will go over the A in REBT. A stands for Activating Event. This event is the trigger event that sets off an emotion or a behavior that is driven by a belief system.
In this lecture we will go over the B of REBT which is the Belief. We want to identify and understand the B because it helps us understand what may be driving our emoticons and behaviors.
In this lecture we will go over C of REBT. The C stands for consequences. Many times we are not aware of the full consequences of our belief systems, emotions, and behavior. Therefore, truly understanding the consequences can give us a better understanding of why we want to change it and the impact that it has in our life.

In this lecture we will go over assessing experience and determining whether something is factual or if we are creating a false story due to our perception.
It is not the situation that determines your reaction, it is what you THINK about the situation. Every negative situation in life has a silver lining--but even more importantly, if you find a different way of looking at the situation you change how you feel about the situation.

Step 4 (D): Changing the Meaning You Assign (Evaluations)

We all live by demands that we create about ourselves, others, and the world. This demands can be very self limiting and unless we can re-frame them and change them it will be difficult to create change in our life. In this lecture we will go over the power of embracing uncertainty and how to embrace it so that we can create true change.
Most people tend to think about what could go wrong, and usually they imagine the worst case scenario as being catastrophic! This is what leads to worry and fear. Use this process to minimize the expectation of a terrible outcome and eliminate worry.
