Arthroscopic surgery on the meniscus is the most common orthopedic procedure in the United States, performed about 700,000 times a year at an estimated cost of $4 billion in the USA. Let's take a look at a fascinating study where both groups had cartilage tears and a year later, most patients in both groups said their knees felt better. The only problems are, one group received FAKE surgery!
Let's take a good hard look at the success rates of back surgery and see what the latest research is advising us to do.
Shoulder surgery. What does the research tell us about the efficacy of getting it?

Ultrasound speeds up tissue healing. That is why millions of therapists use them on a daily basis. They work brilliantly otherwise we wouldn't use them would we?
What happens when you crack your knuckles? Will it give you arthritis? One man cracked the knuckles of his left hand ONLY for 60 years! What were his results?
Throughout the course, I use evidence to refer to. In other words, we look at the studies to know what works and what doesn't. Let's take a look at the process of how this is done.
The placebo effect. In studies they generally have what is known as a control group where the people get fake medication, fake treatments or even fake surgery and then we look at the results. The placebo effect is essentially having something fake give the person real results. They are better because of their belief system. It is a fascinating thing.
Slouching in your chair leads to back pain. Of course it does. We all know that poor posture will give you back pain. After all, I have been teaching this for years. I couldn't be wrong could I?

This is very often recommended for non-specific lower back pain but does it work?

Are there really foods that we eat, like a stick of celery for example, that it takes more energy(calories) to digest it than there are in the stick of celery? Thus, the more celery we eat, the more weight we lose.

I wanted to go through an in-depth look at what detoxing is reported to do(from the spas/manufacturers etc) and see if those claims are really true. After all, people spend a lot of money on these treatments.
Alkaline water. You pay a lot more money for it and the claims of it's effectiveness are amazing from curing cancer to curing migraines. Let's take a closer look.
